Kitchen Faucet Installation in Mill Creek: A Touch Faucet and a Glass Rinser, Set Up Right

The finished kitchen in the Highlands at Mill Creek: the customer's touch faucet on the deck, the soap dispenser to its left and the glass rinser to its right, all tested before Jeremy left.

A homeowner in the Highlands at Mill Creek, east of Town Center, had bought a new touch-activated Delta kitchen faucet and a glass rinser and wanted them installed properly rather than guessed at. A year ago this month, Jeremy fitted both in a single visit and had the kitchen back in service that afternoon.

What We Did

The faucet was the homeowner's own, a Delta pull-down model with a touch sensor in the body, so the first job was unpacking it and checking the sink deck: the faucet, the soap dispenser and the rinser each need a hole, and the rinser needs its own water supply. Jeremy pulled the old faucet, cleaned the deck, set the new one with its braided supply lines and the solenoid and battery pack that make a touch faucet work, and mounted the rinser beside it with a tee off the cold supply and a drain path into the sink. Then everything ran under pressure and was checked for drips.

Because the fixtures were customer-supplied, they carry the manufacturer's warranty rather than ours. Our warranty covers the installation itself.

Unboxed Delta faucet parts laid out on a granite counter, including a coiled braided supply hose, the instruction sheet and a brushed-nickel rinser base still in its wrapping
Before: the new faucet and rinser unpacked on the counter, where a customer-supplied install starts, with every part and every deck hole accounted for.

Why It Matters

  • A touch faucet is a small electrical job too. The sensor runs on a battery pack and a solenoid valve under the sink, and both have to stay dry and reachable.
  • A glass rinser is a second fixture, not an accessory. It needs its own supply connection, a clear path to the drain and room for the faucet's spray head to swing.
  • Buying your own fixture is fine. The manufacturer warranties the fixture and we warranty the installation, and the deck's hole count decides what will fit.
  • A premium faucet only feels premium when it is set right. A faucet that rocks, a spray hose that catches under the sink or a drip at a supply nut undoes the purchase.

Why Mill Creek

Mill Creek went in as a planned community from the late 1970s on, and the neighborhoods around Town Center and east toward 35th Avenue SE filled in through the 1990s and 2000s. Those kitchens are now old enough that builder-grade faucets are being swapped for the ones people actually wanted, often bought online and waiting in a box. Our Lynnwood shop is about ten minutes up the Bothell-Everett Highway, so a one-visit install like this fits easily into the week.
