Sewer Line Repair in Bothell, WA: Backups Traced, Repaired and Given a Cleanout
Done Right Plumbing repairs side sewers across Bothell, on both sides of the county line, from the riverfront near Bothell Landing to Westhill, Maywood Hills and Canyon Park. We find the failure with a camera, repair the section that failed, and add an outdoor cleanout so the next problem can be reached without pulling a toilet or opening the yard again.
Real Work in Bothell
In September 2025, a home near Bothell Landing, on the Sammamish River side of downtown, called us with a sewer that had backed up. When Jeremy and Joseph T. located the side sewer, it ran under the back porch, and the problem was an old trap built into the sewer line itself, a bend designed to hold water that had become a place for the line to catch and back up.
The crew took up the porch decking to reach the line, excavated around the old trap, removed it and rebuilt that section of the sewer in new PVC with a new cleanout rising beside the house. With the cleanout in, they ran a camera down the line and hydro-jetted it clean from that new access point, then rebuilt the decking and put the landscaping back as closely as they could. The work carries our two-year warranty, and none of it needed anyone inside the house.
On the King County side of the city in June 2026, Nick and Jeremy pulled a toilet to run a camera through another Bothell sewer, located the line from outside, reset the toilet on a new wax seal and priced an outdoor cleanout so future work would not start inside. Just north of the city, in unincorporated Snohomish County, Malikai and Joshua dug about three feet down, replaced a failed section in SDR 35 PVC and added a cleanout; with no roots past the blockage, the line needed no jetting.

What We Do on a Bothell Sewer
Camera inspection and locating
We run a camera through the line to see what failed, where and how deep, and locate it from the surface so any digging lands in the right place the first time.
Spot repairs and rebuilt sections
When one section has failed, such as a cracked joint, a sagging bend or an old trap like the one near Bothell Landing, we excavate that spot, rebuild it in PVC and leave the sound pipe alone.
Outdoor cleanouts
A cleanout outside the house is the single most useful thing a sewer can have, because every future camera run, clearing or jetting starts there instead of at a toilet. We add one on most repairs.
Hydro-jetting and lining
Where roots or buildup are the problem, we jet the line clean, and where a long run is failing we can line it. Our sewer line repair page and trenchless sewer repair page cover both.
What Makes a Bothell Sewer Job Different
A city in two counties
Bothell straddles the King and Snohomish county line, and ZIP 98012 also runs out into unincorporated Snohomish County, so a "Bothell" mailing address does not always mean the City of Bothell. Depending on the street, the public sewer main may belong to the City or to Northshore Utility District, while the side sewer from your house to that main is yours. We confirm which applies before we quote.
Permits through MyBuildingPermit
The City of Bothell is one of the Eastside cities that issues permits through MyBuildingPermit.com. Side sewer work at an address outside the city goes to the county or the district instead, which is one more reason we check the jurisdiction first.
Porches, decks and tight lots
Around downtown and the river, many homes sit on small lots, and side sewers often run under porches, decks and walkways added long after the line went in. We open only what we need to reach the pipe, as we did under the porch near Bothell Landing, and put it back afterward.
FAQs About Sewer Line Repair in Bothell
Is my Bothell sewer on City of Bothell or Northshore Utility District service?
It depends on your street. Bothell straddles two counties, and depending on the address the public sewer main belongs to the City of Bothell or to Northshore Utility District. Either way, the side sewer from your house to the main is yours to maintain, and that is the pipe we repair. Your sewer bill names the provider.
What does sewer line repair cost in Bothell?
In our recent work around the region, a camera inspection runs about $250 to $475, a spot repair on one failed section roughly $2,800 to $5,000, and adding a two-way cleanout about $3,800 to $4,800. In Bothell, the depth of the line and whether it runs under a porch, deck or driveway decide where a job lands.
Why would a sewer line have a trap outside the house?
Some older side sewers were built with a trap in the line outside the house, a bend that holds water. Over the years it can collect debris and become the place the line backs up, and it makes cleaning the line harder. Near Bothell Landing, the crew removed the old trap and rebuilt that section with a cleanout.
